Dogs have always played a role in my life, but it wasn't until after college that I realized how important that role would really be. I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2015 with my Bachelors of Science in Criminology/Criminal Justice, and from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2017 with my Master's of Science in Criminology/Criminal Justice. In 2016 my dreams of having my own pup became a reality when I purchased my first dog, Maizey. Maizey presented me with the classic challenges of puppy rearing, but soon challenged me in ways that would change my life. Maizey led me to seek out multiple training companies to help with her behaviors, which were increasingly problematic.
It didn't take long for me to realize that my interests were shifting to more a more canine focused venture. I was quickly hooked on the inter workings of dogs, their behavior, and how to successfully create an amazing human-canine relationship. I was able to bring two more amazing dogs into my life, Kota (Maizey's littermate) and Huckleberry (a rescue from Junction City, KS), that completed my little pack. These three have taught me more than I could have ever imagined.
Since my delve into dog training and the services that go with it, I have received my Diploma of Canine Nutrition, Certificate in Raw Dog Food Nutrition from Dogs Naturally Magazine, Certificate in Canine First Aid/CPR, and have spent countless hours furthering my training knowledge. I continue to study the best ways to communicate with dogs, read books on dog and wolf behavior, and fine tune my own training methods by shadowing successful trainers around the country. In my opinion, you should NEVER stop learning!
My favorite activities include spending time in Colorado with my family and pups, teaching my dogs new commands and tricks, and trying new restaurants with my fiance, Ben (so if you know of any, recommendations are always welcome)!
